Nimrod Autopilot

I've had a request for instructions on the Nimrod autopilot:

We never produced any documentation because we had so many aircaft projects to do. Also we thought people would enjoy the challenge of working it out.

I'll try and remember how to do it.

1. On the flight director control panel first select the Orange Roll and Blue Pitch switches to IN and the black AP and Damping switches to IN

2. On the flight director control panel select the black knob to HDG to control heading only, set to BEAM to control Heading and VOR and set to APR to control Heading, VOR and ILS.

3. To control Height Lock select the Blue Height Lock switch

4. On the centre console you will need to select the ROLL, HDG, BEAM or GLIDE switch depending on which you want to be active. If a BEAM is captured then it will change from Amber to Green.

If you don't use the centre console you can control the aircraft from the Flight Director panel.
